In this week update we discuss a new library from the Stratum V2 team to test interoperability between the reference implementation, SRI, and other SV2-based software.
We also feature a PR in the Cashu Development Kit (CDK), which integrates a new NUT for retrieving mint quotes associated with a public key.
We finally provide some interesting news from the Bitcoin world. In particular, we discuss the new native applications for the OG cashu wallet cashu(.)me and we highlight new interviews from the Nairobi event.
Highlights from the bitcoin developer ecosystem
I spent 10+ hours in open-source developer calls in the Bitcoin ecosystem last week. Here is what caught my eye:
interoperability-tests-sv2is the new library for testing compliance with the reference implementation of Stratum V2.During the weekly call, on Tuesday 14th, Stratum V2 contributors discussed the new approach for verifying compliance between their reference implementation, SRI, and other SV2-based software.
According to IS1, which outlines the history of interoperability tests in the mining protocol, there is an increasing need for assessing compliance between different implementations and applications, due to the fact that more and more experimentation is done on the protocol.
The final goal is to avoid making SV2 a protocol without interoperability across different implementations.
PR1834 is implementing a new NUT in the Cashu Development Kit (CDK).
During the weekly call, on Wednesday 15th, CDK developers discussed PR1834, which aims to implement a new NUT to allow users to retrieve mint quotes associated with a public key.
The new NUT, which is still missing an official number, is being discussed in PR341. It introduces a new endpoint for wallets to get all locked mint quotes associated with a set of public keys. Queries require a valid signature from the owner of the corresponding private keys, to avoid abuses of this feature.
The PR in CDK is ready, but developers are still waiting for the specification to be officially included as a NUT before merging it.

There was no newsworthy update in the last days in the BIP repository. We’ll provide new updates as soon as a new BIP gets published or gets assigned a number.
Other News from the Bitcoin World
Native Cashu: The Cashu team recently announced that the OG ecash wallet cashu(.)me had been released as a native application on both iOS and Android. The wallet is built on CDK, which provides bindings for both Swift and Kotlin, it supports lightning and on-chain, tap-to-pay, and multi-currencies.
